You’ve Been Dying To See It…

A short stream-of-consciousness photo description:
The jar contains three kinds of sugar (brown, white, and cane) for “do-it-yourself” scrub kits, the “Oat.Milk” jar has finely ground oats & milk for baths (yum!), the “Pine.Apple” is a pineapple-olive oil facial, the angel looking thing also has a creme rinse hair treatment & headband, the box o’ stuff is one of the “accessory kits”, the light brown rectangle soap is a cinnamon-oatmeal bar w/ chinese lettering (yep, i made the soap!), the purple “journey” book is a notebook i made from paper, ribbon, and the small ribbon tied packet is another small accessory kit, with candles, chocolate, etc.

So there ya go. These are the kinds of products & things I’m putting together for The Cozy Home Spa, with more to come (and more photos on the site!) once the county fair dies down.
It’s been so interesting to work on the product development/branding side of things, which I haven’t had as much direct experience with to this point.
For example, at first, I just had white mailing labels on the product containers, handwritten in. Then I actually used one of the products and all of the ink ran from the water (it’s a bath scrub, so, more than likely, the container would be kept near a tub).
So then I found the method of printing a label and sort of ghetto-laminating it onto the container with a thick piece of packaging tape. It works much better. The next step is to include the actual ingredients & “how to use” instructions.
There you have it! More updates later.

Special kudos & thanks to my friend Mike Lyman for the photography props. He does portraits usually, and this was his first “product photo shoot”.

I havent seen you around much and thought I’d check your blog to see how you’re doing.
Good luck Carolynn.
I’m glad you’ve been gettin right back on the saddle after the 100 dollar business didn’t pan out. These facial and scrub kits look totally cool! I hope that you succeed with whatever idea’s you decide to pursue with your entrepenure ship.

@Titianna
Hello there! For anyone who doesn’t know, this girl was one of our partners in crime at last December’s mall project– she worked at the kiosk next to us, and saved our lives SOOO many times when we ran out of change and receipt paper.
Glad to see you– I’ll drop you an email. Hope everything’s going well, and thanks for the encouragement.
