Jumping Off The Cliff

So, I just shipped the first online order for The Cozy Home Spa (thanks, Mark!)
While I was getting the order ready, I had that feeling… the jumping off the cliff feeling. Or rather, how you feel right before you jump off the cliff.
A bit of apprehension, some what ifs, and a little anxiety:
- Will the investment in supplies & product pay off?
- Is the idea even good?
- Will the customer like the product?
If you’ve ever put something out there, particularly as an entrepreneur, you know what I’m talking about. It’s scary, but after you go through with it, it can be great.
Whether or not it goes as well as you hope, and even if you struggle, at least you’re doing something. In the moment, particularly if you’re feeling the pressure or frenzy of what you’re trying to accomplish, this doesn’t always come to mind.
A lot of people have great ideas. And a lot of people have the talent and determination to do something. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that a lot of people have the abillity to put something out there and face that jumping-off-a-cliff feeling.
I mailed that first product, and it’s only the beginning. This week I’ll be at a county fair, and I’m going to have to work hard if I want to see some positive results.
(Part of jumping off the cliff is dealing with whatever’s at the bottom of the cliff, and in this case, I hope that’s lots of sales & having a fun time trying out this new idea.)
My point in bringing this up is that really, it’s not that tough. It’s just a matter of doing it.
So if you’re thinking about starting something, or have an idea you’ve been tossing around for a while, why not go ahead and put it out there?

The reason that many people don’t make something from their ideas is that they are afraid not to fail but the thought of failling.
Thinking of all that parents, relatives and friends who wait to see you failling is a bit scary.
You see many want to develop such ideas, but they can’t so they prefer that you fail and not for them to succeed.
