Today’s Work-Life Balance Attempts
So, here are a few of the things I tried today:
1. Last night I planned out what I was intending to accomplish today, and made a play-by-play on a 3×5 card.
2. I went running for about 15 min. right after I woke up. Then I ate oatmeal. That seemed like a healthy start for the day.
3. Set goals for the morning & afternoon at work and left work promptly at 6:30 pm as planned.
4. Didn’t work on The HDB at all during the day.
5. Scheduled time for fun this evening (banana splits & chilling w/ a friend).
The only part where the plan fell apart was that it’s now past midnight, as I’ve been blogging for the Hundred Dollar Business. Tsk, tsk. What can I say– I can’t resist the HDB!
So this is one of the weak areas– attempting a full-time job plus regular life, plus another extensive project, is not easily packaged into work-life homeostasis. (Did I also mention I’ve got 5 weeks to get my MBA application in?)
Hrmm. So I think I’ll keep what worked for tomorrow, and try new & offbeat things. Any ideas?
