It’s Day 30!

I feel like I’m on the last leg of a marathon… it’s Day 30, as you may know, which has been getting pretty intense!

Over the last day I’ve had the following dilemmas:

1. Do I drive down to Utah (4.5 hours) and hang out with people tonight or do I stay in Idaho and get ‘er done!
2. Do I focus on my job projects or focus on finishing the HDB book?
3. Do I work on my workaholic problem or ignore it to get the project finished?
4. Should I rain check the launch of the book, or the party celebrating the launch of the book?
5. Do I write back to people’s e-mails, or do I work on the book?
6. Is it lame to postpone things, or will people understand?
7. How the heck can we get a decent PDF of the book out?

Here’s what I’ve decided and been doing:

1. Not driving to Utah today
2. I focused on my job while I was at my job, and then focused on HDB after work.
3. Ignore it to get the project done (kind of– I watched a movie and had a smoothie while I was working on the book last night, so it was sort of a compromise)
4. I’m rainchecking the launch party until Saturday… I’m really sorry, Utah! Fringe benefit: THE BOOK WILL BE COMING OUT TODAY!
5. Ignore emails today; apologize and write back tomorrow. ;)
6. It is kind of lame, but people do understand. (Just don’t postpone twice.)
7. Thanks to the following good karma:

I google chat with Tim Totten about the PDF frustration—>
He sends me a sample ebook PDF–>
I see a sign “Easily Turn Any Document Into PDF” in the corner—>
I download Adobe Acrobat but it botches the install—>
I find a WebPage-turned-PDF—>
I ask Kory Hoopes if the HTML from our Yepic doc can be slapped up on a temp website to be turned into a PDF—>
he says it’s even easier than that—>
and does it—>

Alacadabra! We’ve got the ability to have a decent-looking PDF available. Coming soon…

So, it’s Day 30! Are you guys excited? I am. Alright– gotta get back to editing now. ;)
